how to consign

cuz so many people ask...

i figured i'd go through the process of HOW WE CONSIGN again..it's been a while, a lot of new people are coming in and consignment and resale shops are more popular than EVER...cuz they rock & NOBODY wants to pay full price (and nobody should...ever)

 

so here's the skinny....you call us or swing by...to make an appointment...(we do NOT take walk ins...please do not bring your stuff in HOPING we will look at it, take it, hold it for later...we won't...the shop is just too small & we have found that appointments work best for us)

we only take items that are clean on hangers or in shopping totes...

 

we take current season clothing...so in winter we mainly take winter items...and the same happens for spring, summer and fall.  we have a few transitional months, so bear with us....

 

we will go through your items while you are here...we're very quick, we try to make it as easy as possible, plus you can always shop while you wait :)  we will give you back any items that we don't need or do not think we can sell here...every store is different, we take what we think will sell, the last thing anyone wants is for your items to hang around...we want to SELL IT ALL...

 

when we begin to process your things...if we find any defects, holes, missing buttons, stains, etc, your items will be immediately donated....(please read our contract when filling it out)....

 

your items will stay here for 60 days and take gradual markdowns (after 30 days items will be 20% off, after 45 days items will be 50% off) (designer handbags will be 20% off after 30 days & an additional 5% after 45 days)...our split is 60%-blackbirds/40%-consignors...this is new for us, we are pretty sure we were the last store on the planet to be 50/50 and we just couldn't do it any longer...60/40 is the industry standard....thank you for your understanding...

 

you have a SEVEN...7...SEVEN day window to pick up unsold merchandise...we write it on a card for you...if we do not hear from you by the seventh day, your items become property of the shop...period...we can't extend it, hold them or store them....they're your items, if you want them back, please use the seven day window.

 

you can check the status of your account at any time, we respond to emails promptly...and can check pretty quickly if you call us...

 

when picking up unsold items, we kindly ask for 48 hour notice so that we can gather them for you....just give us a call...

 

that's about it....we TRY to make it as painless and easy as possible...we have AMAZING consignors and customers...and we love you all....here's to RESALE...
